The process of becoming a mature and ministering worshippers of God who loves the Lord with all their heart, mind, soul and strength is a lifelong process. In light of this, we seek to invest in our senior adults through our Worship Services, LIFE Groups, Mission Opportunities, and various other activities which you can read about below.
The JOY Group, which stands for 'Just Older Youth', is the name of the Senior Adult Ministry at Wendell Baptist Church. Join us for our monthly luncheon and program beginning on September 11th, and then each 2nd Tuesday of each month, 10:45 AM, in the large Fellowship Hall . Everyone brings covered dishes, including main course dishes and all kinds of good desserts. The group welcomes all Seniors to join them each month for fun, fellowship, food, good singing and a few laughs. The Joy Group does not meet during the summer months.
The Fall Senior Adult Rally/Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, September 18th at Central Baptist Church with registration beginning at 9am. The cost will be $15 per person which is due to Sandy by Sunday, September 1st.
They rally will feature: Peter Burgess, a former associational minister, songwriter, artist, and musician; Amanda Bailey, a former Miss North Carolina, now a music teacher, who will be sharing her testimony in word and song; and the Wake Christian Academy Chorale, and audition-only high school choral group having won numerous awards in the NC Christian School Association and having performed at Carnegie Hall.
Senior Adult Trips At various times during the year the senior adults take trips to interesting and fun places.
